“After becoming a mom, I felt like it was time to stop “willy nilly-ing” my way through life.
I felt like I was letting myself and my family down. I wasn’t really paying attention to what I was spending, or what I was spending it on, it was kind of a mess. I was just throwing money at the credit card. Once it was paid off, it was like “Where did all our money go??” And sometimes it wouldn’t get paid off fully and I was paying interest. It was an exhausting cycle to be in.
Money already feels judgy and you feel like an idiot when you don't know things, but Berkeley taught me that money stuff doesn't have to be scary, rigid, judgmental, intimidating, or exclusive.
I have so much more financial awareness now. I understand my spending habits, and instead of trying to deprive or stop them from happening all together, I’ve learned how to be intentional/selective and plan for the things ahead.
I also feel so much more educated and informed. I even chose my own investments for the first time and truly felt like I knew what I was doing! Never in a million years did I think I’d be doing that.
But most importantly, this program has been great for my relationship. My husband and I are so aligned. And now I feel like I don’t only contribute to the household monetarily, I contribute strategically in how we are managing our money and working towards our goals.”
